Accreditation
The Donahue Graduate School of Business is accredited by the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business International (AACSB International), the world's premier business school accrediting body. Only 15 percent of business schools worldwide earn AACSB accreditation.
As an AACSB accredited member school, Duquesne works with other schools to establish standards that help to define quality in business education. Schools must meet those standards to earn initial accreditation and maintain accreditation status through periodic on-site reviews.
The Donahue School received its initial accreditation in 1962 and has been re-accredited continuously since then.
WHY AACSB INTERNATIONAL ACCREDITATION MATTERS
Simply put, AACSB accreditation confirms the quality and integrity of your MBA degree.
AACSB accreditation reflects a major commitment of resources, most important among them an investment in full-time faculty with the required professional and academic backgrounds to deliver a reputable, quality MBA education.
PROTECT YOUR INVESTMENT
It’s always appropriate to ask any college or university about the accreditation of a particular degree or program. The most important stamp of approval for an MBA or similar business program is AACSB accreditation. Some institutions may promote accreditation earned by the college or university as a whole, but not conferred specifically upon the business program. The distinction matters.
HOW AACSB INTERNATIONAL ACCREDITATION WORKS
AACSB International draws on thought leaders in management education from around the world to continually update their criteria. AACSB establishes the following guidelines for any MBA program seeking accreditation:
- curriculum content
- faculty qualifications
- full-time faculty requirements
- ongoing professional development of faculty
- processes for continuous improvement of curricula and instruction
- standards for student selection
In addition, accredited schools regularly assess outcomes of their programs to assure that stated learning goals are being achieved.
