Graduate Student Services

Duquesne University's student population of approximately 10,000 includes more than 4,000 graduate students.

This living and learning community includes full- and part-time graduate students from throughout the United States and dozens of international countries. Duquesne encourages graduate students to become active members of the campus community and participants in the life of the University.

The university provides academic and career advisors, and a full range of technology, counseling and health services.

ACADEMIC & CAREER SERVICES

Career guidance and placement are provided within the MBA Sustainability program. In addition, students may access the full array of services offered by the Career Services Center to current students and Duquesne alumni throughout their career.

TECHNOLOGY CENTER

To enhance learning, the School of Business operates an expansive, state-of-the-art Technology Center on the 6th floor of Rockwell Hall. This complex features a sophisticated Investment Center with online real-time connectivity to all the major financial markets, three technology-rich classroom learning centers for access to Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software applications, as well as networking and general computer facilities.

Investment Center provides students with real-time access to stocks, bonds, commodities, futures, currencies, and options markets from around the world. Using this real-time market access, students and faculty conduct many levels of analysis in business and industry issues. Bloomberg and other databases in the Investment Center interface with Excel to quickly download data for statistical and computational efficiency.

CENTER FOR CORPORATE & EXECUTIVE EDUCATION

As a future graduate of the School of Business, you will be able to continue your professional development well after your MBA thanks to the Center for Corporate & Executive Education. The center offers performance improvement programs and certificates, customized executive education programs and consulting services.

COMPUTER AND TECHNOLOGY SERVICES

Duquesne's Computer and Technology Services assists students in accessing to online computing services. There are several computer labs on campus. The Computer Store in the Duquesne Union offers discounts for computers and accessories as well as repair services. Call the Help Desk (412-396-4357) with any problems or questions.

DUQUESNE ONLINE RESOURCES & INFORMATION (DORI)

DORI is a portal to news, tools and information open to all Duquesne students, faculty and staff. The content and online tools are designed to enhance your participation in the Duquesne community.

COUNSELING CENTER

The University Counseling Center (UCC) offers personal counseling, career counseling, and testing to Duquesne students. During regular business hours, students, faculty and staff may call the Counseling Center at 412-396-6204 to consult with a counselor regarding student and campus emergency situations, or an urgent need for services. After hours, call the Department of Public Safety at 412-396-4747. They will contact the counselor on call.

CAMPUS SAFETY

The Department of Public Safety protects the safety and security of Duquesne students, staff, faculty and visitors. If you have a medical or other emergency on campus notify the Department of Public Safety by calling the 24-hour special emergency number, 412-396-COPS (2677). (Within the University phone system, dial 2677.)

ACCOMMODATIONS FOR STUDENTS WITH DISABILITIES

Students with disabilities are entitled to reasonable accommodations, as determined by the institution, after proper documentation of the disability has been received.

TRANSPORTATION AND PARKING

Duquesne University offers students and employees various parking services and parking permit options. Students who do not purchase parking permits should still register their vehicles. Students may purchase a parking permit for garage or surface parking.

No one is required to purchase parking services at the University; there are many other parking lots and garages in the campus vicinity. Visitors and anyone without a permit should park in Forbes Garage.

RIDESHARING AT DUQUESNE

The Blackboard Rideshare e-board matches those looking for and offering a ride to campus. Check out the Rideshare e-board available now on Blackboard. The Blackboard Learning System is accessible to the entire Duquesne community -- students, faculty, adjuncts, administrators, and staff.

KPMG International Survey

The KPMG International Survey of Corporate Responsibility Reporting 2005 found a dramatic change in the type of CR reporting, from purely environmental reporting (through 1999) to triple bottom line (social, environmental and economic) reporting.
